They're worth more without the FIRST BATTN legends. :-)
Interesting find.

Bruce/Michael, I was under the impression the other ranks collars were a dark finish. Would these be for an order of dress like the blue patrols or maybe pipers?

The dress regs for Senior NCMs has changed over the years. Currently, they wear silver-coloured badges but I seem to recall a time in the 80s when they may have worn gold! As for the KC era, I think Bruce is correct in presuming that officers would have worn silver (real silver). P and D probably wore silver-coloured. I think at that time only the RSM wore silver-coloured badges, the other warrant officers wearing bronze but that is purely off the top of my head. The Sr. NCOs did wear patrol dress at some point so you may be correct there - probably need to dig through photos in the archives and see how this evolved.

These are the mysteries that dog collectors. The changes are not documented and in many cases are not authorized. The badges exist, but for what order of dress or for what purpose?
A nice short "history" of Calgary Highlanders collars would be a great reference.

As silver they are definitely officers. In most regiments the RSM would wear officer accoutrements. The other possibility is full dress.

Bruce, the collars are silver? Not plated? If silver is there a hallmark?

I suspect that they may be silver plated, hard to tell, no markings on the back.
