U.D.F.S. - U.V.M.S. shoulder title.
I am struggling to identify a shoulder title with the two sets of initials. U.D.F.S. - U.V.M.S.
Clearly United Defence Force are the first three of the initials in English, but what is the fourth? Signals? Can anyone please enlighten me? |

Looking at Wikipedia it could date from anytime between 1912 and 1957 when it became the South African Defence Force. |

Thank you very much for the positive identification, it is appreciated.
Good to know that it was a relatively short lived shoulder title. I rarely stumble across South African items in this part of the world but when I do, they all seem to be out of the ordinary. |
