Initial reports by CBS news name a 32 yr old "extremist" known to US govt sources as the one shot and killed.

Thoughts and prayers to the family and regimental family of the slain soldier.

One of the officers in our local reserve regiment "converted to Islam" a number of years ago. He was neither weak minded, nor as far as I know a terrorist. He was, however, caucasian. He currently is, as of I believe a year ago, a major in PPCLI.

I'm curious why you're expressing a preference as to the race of the shooter.

Not wearing my uniform to work today, I wonder how long it will last? I have to applaud the boys in blue who had 3 cars at the armouries within minutes as we are half a klick from the memorial. There is a school right behind us as well. I'm glad the murdering coward was killed, saves the shark lawyers from defending him. Colin

My condolences to the soldiers family.
I wonder whether Canadian law will now allow the shooters family to sue the Canadian government/police for excessive force and his "Human Rights". Sounds like it could be a money spinner (as usual) for civil rights lawyers etc.

I hope your civilians and armed forces personnel don't suffer at the hands of ANY loonies (thats probably not a very PC statement for me to make and is probably illegal these days) the way they have over the years in the UK. Good luck and watch yourselves.

Hello Griff,
I was listening to the radio whilst driving home yesterday as this unfolded and those were my thoughts, yet again, the enemy within, very sad news indeed.
I hope that it is a wake up call, if it were really needed, to every security organisation in North America.
