I read nowhere that they say it is military.

The Salesroom one is in the category "Specialist Collectors" and says that the items going with it are military. Not if the buckle is military or Boy Scouts or .....

The Bamfords one is "Victorian, Edwardian and General Sale". Which does in fact says almost nothing.

I understand your frustration, but this is business, not collectors pampering.
Thanks for all the input
not looking good for the buckle
does this mean the badges attached
are dubious aswell???

Regards

Alan

I've only just stumbled upon this thread - but realise that in my "junk" drawer I've had this for the last 20 years or so. I can remember dismissing it then as a fantasy piece ( and nothing in the thread has done anything to challenge that view I think ) - but strange how these things turn up. I can honestly say I can't remember how I came by it in the first place - strange that the original belt that sparked the thread clearly had some age and the other badges appeared to be genuine?

The 2nd SA Infantry collar badge is genuine, I'm sure. I haven't heard of these being faked. As mentioned, the QC Army Pay Corps badges definitely makes the belt look made up recently.
