1st VB DLI
Does anyone have any views on this cap badge of the 1st Volunteer Battalion DLI (with Fattorini slider)!

I would not touch this with a barge pole. I was at a flea market recently and a guy had a board with lots of 'flat' like this badge Suffolks and each one had a different marked slider. I was tempted to buy them to put on here as a caveat.

Thanks for such a fast reply.
I didn't remember until after I'd posted, Is it correct that the 1st VB DLI as well as the DLI Territorial with South Africa scroll were only produced with lugs? By the way, the seller has some "interesting" looking items listed. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/kitcat1-uk...ca2199&_sop=10 |

That mate is something that will be much debated. personally, if it were and East Surrey SA scrolled badge I was about to purchase I would be looking for one with lugs. I think that a 'reproducer' out there has thought that adding dodgy makers marks will increase sales of 'rare' badges or common restrikes.

Andy, I can just imagine what you would like to say, especially 15/20 years ago if you found the proprietor/maker on your parade square!
