Default Help with Montgomery Yeomanry

This is one of several badges I picked up this morning, this one is out of my comfort zone but for £5.50 I thought worth a go!
Two part construction caught my eye. Any input would be most welcome.
This mornings other buys,in my 'Latest Additions' album. Would post a link if I knew how, so if anyone would be so kind.
Thanks Tony.

The only thing at first i see is that I thought the scroll attached to the Dragon, not the other way round Tony. Don't quote me on that, someone will confirm either way.

Fingers crossed though for 5.50......

Simon.

I take it I was wrong then on the way attached. I hope so as that's the buy of the year Tony.

The version shown in post #3 in this thread suggests that Simon's is correct and Tony's is not, notice the scroll placement. Also the ridges on the dragons back and I think the plinth is supposed to be grass covered.

Oh, Ok. Wasn't sure. I'm not the most informed on badges as such, but I'm sure I read that the connection was scroll to dragon when I posted a version of the MIY last year.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

It's not a badge I would go for. It has a number of features that spell fake.

1. The cup cakes on the top of the dorsal flank.
2. The bands around the legs (Chicken legs)
3. Scroll attachments are the wrong type. See 41st's example http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ictureid=20904

4. Head detail, especially ear shape.

Regards,

Garry

Tony,
Always worth a punt for that sort of money, but a duffer in my opinion.
The earlier posts are quite right about the fact that the title should be attached to the ground and not the other way around.
There are also many other pointers e.g. The wings are wrong as are the ears and legs.
Sorry about that.
Hwyl,
Kevin
