Default HAC moving wheel?

Picked this one up the other day, am not 100% on this one, well polished with moving wheel. Any comments most welcome.
Cheers Tony.

I was a lowly member of the Infantry Battalion of the HAC so know little about those superior 1st and 2nd Regiment people or even 'G' Locating Battery as there was in my day, which rather dates me, but the last time I had one of their badges with a moving wheel in my possession was in 1949. If the badge has the looks and feel of being as ancient as that then I would say you have a good one.

Hi Tony,

Similar to my fixed wheel version here http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ictureid=49672 which I also have doubts about.

Cheers,

Phil

I note your point about doubts Phil. The photo of the moving wheel one makes the badge looks a bit tinny, and therefore duff, but I put that down to the effect of flash, and hence my comment about the look and feel of the badge.
A good brass one with a moving wheel I reckon will be kosher.

Edited to ask Phil whats this with his new avatar, Essex lads don't need maps - they know their way around.

I'm yet to find a moving wheel in KC. The slider is what makes my one seem odd to me.

I think you are quite right about Tony's badge, in hand I suspect it is a bit tougher than it looks.

The depth of the strike, from the back, on both our badges looks shallow and the cra of fulcra looks to fade away on the reverse.

Thanks for your comments John and Phil. Hope this is a clearer rear view of the badge.
Cheers Tony.

It was just the light made it look grey

I think, like John, its spot on. I wouldn't say no to it, although, I still doubt my own one

You still have not said why you need that map Phil, honestly mate, I thought you knew your way around........oh wait a minute.....I do remember a certain time you were four miles away from us.....OK, let's just forget it. I see the need for the map in your avatar now.
Cheers mate,
John

I do like your sense of humour Phil. To me this is the sort of exchange between old mates which makes this forum something special

Cheers
