Default Heavy Branch - The Machine Gun Corps

Hi Guys,

Quick question - the Heavy Branch of the the Machine Gun Corps (before they became the Tank Corps) just wear the usual MGC hat and collar badges?

Or did they have their own Heavy Branch badges? I know they had their own metal titles but not sure about hat/collar badges.

Mick

They wore the standard MGC cap and collar badges. The drivers were ASC men prior to the formation of the Tank Corps.

They would of worn the normal Machine Gun Corps badge. With MGC shoulder titles, with a separate H for Heavy. There was quite a lot of different unofficial shoulder titles as well.

Those shown in the attached link belonged to Gunner Ben Clarke. No MGC titles with his effects but the 'H's were amongst them.
