Crests, mostly from letterheads, rather than badges ! I've been trying to collect those to the King's for a while.

Cool Letterheading badges

Most of these regimental crests were die-stamped, the designs did not always follow the design of the cap badge, but very collectable.

Whilst searching for something entirely different, I came across this:

I'm looking at three RA letter headings on the sheets I was loaned which do not feature on the website. I'll offer them to the man who runs the site. Mike

Peter,
Given your 7947 posts - the word is keen I think?

That reminds me, I have a letter head somewhere, (attached to a letter!) yet another item purchased a long time ago which I meant to 'research' one day....bought as an Army letter, was disappointed (at first) when I got home, read it and it turned out to be an Officers? letter to his mother, recounting a months hunting trip he and a fellow Officer undertook in the Sudan, I think in the 1930's.
'Dick' was the writer, and his fellow hunter was 'Pat'........who ended up very unwell at the end by the sounds of it......poss Malaria!
Very interesting account, VERY controversial and I HOPE would never happen today....they hunted EVERYTHING including Lions.
Anyway, letterhead had motto, 'Faugh au Ballach', or something similar?? which I think was Royal Irish Fusiliers?...........must dig it out!

What would be the chances of finding out who Dick and Pat were?!

Attached is the Army List entry for the Royal Irish Fusiliers for November 1932 so it is quite possible that Dick and Pat are on there somewhere.Do you have any further details ?

Default No.

Afraid not, no addresses unfortunately.
Will have to dig it out!
He mentions King Alphonse? and going to his camp site for a meal with a lot of booze (lists what they had!) this confirms the two as Officers I suspect.
