Default Scots Guards badge, Maker Marked "UNIQUIP LONDON.

Going through my badge collection I came across this Scots Guards badge,
(KK 908 or COX 1414) with the makers mark on the slider "UNIQUIP LONDON".
Searching the Badge Forum there did not appear to be much reference on this
maker, just a mention of them in reference to an Australian rising star badge.
Thought it may be of some interest. Any comments?

Hi,
If you search Uniquip on the forum you will find a thread started by Keith Blakeman which will give you some detail of this supplier.
Sorry I can't put up the link.
Paul

If the badge in question was actually worn by serving members of the regiment, it would have to be regarded as genuine.

Thanks for posting this photo. I now know that the firm "UNIQUIP" existed.

Hi Andy,
Your comment peaked my interest even more on this badge. I did something I almost never do, I cleaned the badge and got rid of all grim on it. On close inspection, I think the brass is of good colour, the impression is sharp and shows crisp detail. "UNIQUIP" on the slider is nice and sharp. Total weight of the badge is about 8 g. and is not of the bendy ilk. I will try to post new photos of the badge. Your comments are most welcome.
Michael

Michael
