Default Just a thought

Probably in the wrong place, but are we having a bottle of bell’s and a Christmas pudding this year?

Kind regards,
Philip

They say there is no such thing as free advertising, maybe Bells haven't come through with the moderators free samples yet this year?

By the way Talisker is my favourite.

Talisker is a good one but for my money you can't beat Old Pulteney, possibly the smoothest single malt ever ....

Ha-ha. Nice one rob. I suppose we will just have to wait and see! My favourite tipple is Tè Bheag. One of the few things I can still buy from the UK after Brexit. Politics and alcohol! Moderators please remove this as seen fit, after you have posted the Christmas pudding!

‘HAPPY CHRISTMAS’

Kind regards,
Philip

I’ve never really been a whisky drinker, but I do have a bottle of Glenmorangie which does occasionally get attacked on a cold day! However, after many golfing trips to Ireland we boys inevitably have to sample a wee drop of the ‘Irish’. Not to everyone’s taste, but the effect is just the same! Jameson’s is OK for a quick nip on the course, but a real smooth tipple is ‘Red Breast’. Wonderful stuff. Sláinte.

Default Insignia on trench art

I have long been a collector of trench art especially any that are composed of insignia and ordnance, while not generally made in the trenches except for smaller simpler items such as matchbox covers, some of the larger more complex items were often made in workshops and recovery centres behind the front lines.

Here is one of my examples, an 18pdr shell dated 1917 with a solid economy Royal Artillery cap badge, a scroll with "20th Div. RA" was added below.

This was probably put together in a base area workshop as the title scroll was expertly struck rather than being engraved.

If anyone has any further information or thoughts on this item I would be pleased to hear from them.

Apologies for the photography.

Regards Rob
