Research help please
Hi All
I have just acquired a nice Essex Regiment cap badge with a number stamped onto the slider. If anybody has access to Forces War Records or a similar site could you possibly look it up for me please? My subscription has expired...  The number is 1791, so I assume it is an early number. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Alex

Just had a quick look and found a W.J Charles Army number 1791 7th Bn Essex Regt Died 21-03-16 Buried at Walthamstow Cemetery, memorial ref D-351 Found the information on the CWGC, might be your man. Gerard
