Unknown Button
I have been asked if I can identify the button in the attached which I cannot, it was found on a beach ( not sure where yet ) and I apologise for the poor quality of the picture but if anyone can help I would be grateful.
Thanks P.B.

Interesting, the shield is reminiscent of that on some Polish insignia (is it termed an Amazon shield?)
I'm guessing South American. Argentina, cap of liberty under the rising sun? Complete guesswork I'm afraid. |

The design is of a French General's button (3rd republic and onwards), but the quality should be excellent.
The fashion industry may have done it again: usurp a military design and confuse the experts. Please get us a picture of the reverse. Here is a link to ebay: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/BOUTON-milita...0AAOSwPCVYAgfD Last edited by btns; 08-08-17 at 02:34 PM. Reason: added link |

Btns,
Many thanks, that is excellent, the condition of the subject button may well be a result of being washed by the tides over a number of years. Regards Peter
