Mine is different again (from a WW1 Camel Corps veteran's estate).

That looks old.
I would be tempted to say Australian Camel Corps (ACC) but they were the Imperial Camel Corps (ICC) unless someone knows that the Australian contingent wore these.

You are quite right, the only one I have ever seen. I have always wondered whether it was a genuine unofficial. Australian Camel Corps badges were all there were in the estate lot which incluided a cast camel cap badge and an Australian CC rising sun.

Although all the war diaries and Regimental Lists call it the Anzac Section, Imperial Camel Corps, it would be surprising if the Australians, eventually numbering 10 companies, didn't refer to themselves as Australian, or even ANZAC, Camel Corps.

Look at their disgust when the second mounted division was formed in Palestine with two Australian brigades and one Yeomanry brigade and initially called the Imperial Mounted Division.

I think there is mention in the war diary of No 2 Company, Camel Corps, which was one of the original Australian companies, to badges being received. Given what we don't know about all those unofficial badges that sprung up in the Middle East it is quite possible ACC was worn by Australian companies of the ICC.

Fab photo and I now have been convinced by the many posts about the larger ACC titles being much older.
One question though Jon why the brass grenade?
Cheers
