Default Blazer/Hunt RWAFF Button

Hello Chaps,

As part of a little RWAFF badge project, once in a while and as an extra, I am the recipient of a button or two of the same designation. Once such button is the one you see here.

A very nice little flat button of around 16mm, with a nice rendition of the RWAFF insignia. After discussing this with friends, the consensus is that it is a blazer or hunt button and that seems reasonable.

I had considered it to be a mess waiters example but the design and form seem to contradict this. However it did peek my interest somewhat, so I'm now on the look out for an RWAFF mess waiters example - anyone have one to share?

Regardless, I thought I would share this lovely little 'blazer/hunt' button for interest.

Cheerio,

Roy

Nice button Roy, but who’s eaten all the coconuts?

Regards,

Zob.

Thanks for that Zob,

It's a pretty little button..despite having no coconuts...

I would still be interested to hear if anyone has ever seen a mess-waiters button to the RWAFF..?

Cheerio,

Roy

Hello Roy

I have never seen a mess waiter's button to the RWAFF (that is to say a button worn on the jacket of a mess servant working in the officers' mess).

I think you might be looking for an officer's mess dress button though, somewhat different but I have not seen one of those either!

Hi Roger,

Struck out on both occasions then!

O well, it's always fun to look and who knows stranger things have happened.

Cheers,

Roy
