Default Women Wearing Official Badges on Civilian Dress - 1st AIF??

Hi All,

A quick question relating the 1st AIF Rising Sun collar badge. I have a photo of a woman wearing a Rising Sun collar badge on the collar of a civilian dress. My question is, how likely would it have been for a civilian to wear an unaltered badge like this?

I am almost 100% sure that the lady in question was in fact a serving sister in the Australian Army Nursing Service and entitled to wear the badge. But I want to rule out that it might be someone wearing it as a sweet heart badge.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Michelle
