My Little Collection
Hello gents,
As well as collecting other things - OK I admit, I'm a hoarder! - I always pick up sweetheart badges, pins, veteran badges etc. Anyway, I thought I share with you some of those I've picked up over the years. Cheers, Tom |

Smashing collection
You might be aware, but your Silver War Badge (No B133870) was awarded to 50183 PTE. Sidney Heal of the Northamptonshire Regiment. Thanks for showing, Andy |

I ashamedly haven't looked it up on Ancestory yet. I had forgotten about this tin full until I saw this section of the forum. Yours, Tom |

Thanks for posting the images of your accumulation. The Australian service pin is one seldom seen, and the Sherwood Foresters is a very attractive pin.

I wonder if the 'Died on Active Service' disc would have a photograph in the centre? It doesn't appear to have a means of holding an image but it would make sense.

Bill, thanks for the information. The Aus badge is only one I've been able to pick up. Presumably, there's a roll somewhere to ID the recipient? |

A hoarder you may be, but you have succeeded in hoarding some beautiful badges. They make a wonderful collection.

Hiya
Love your collection. I'm especially coveting the Sherwood Foresters brooch Allison |

The Sherwood Foresters item is an officers' pattern full dress collar badge that has been converted to a pinned sweetheart brooch. It was worn on full dress by all officers until 1914 and was 'optional' after that (for levees etc) until the final demise in 1947.

I know that you already have a good book on cap badges Alli. It would be worth getting the book on collar badges by Churchill to accompany it. It is available on Amazon as both soft and hard back.
