Default Canadian and/or British Buttons...

Hi,

I got a lot of mixed buttons... 150 or so.

Mostly of the image called "british", a lot of "irish" and one of each from "militia"

I got them together in a suspiciously dirty & topless cigar box....

I just can't link them to a regiment with the litterature I own.

Can someone help!

Thanks!

Have no fear, all check out as right.

From left to right:

1. Coldstream Guards; coat and pocket sized
2. Irish Guards, pre-1953, the same
3. Top: Scots Guards, pre-1953 (upside down)
Bottom: Victorian (mid-19th Century) Canadian Artillery (you knew that, it says it!)

Hi Patrick,

The buttons are from left to right:

1a & 1b. Coldstream Guards (Pattern worn from 1855 onwards)

2a & 2b. Irish Guards (KC so was worn approximately 1902 - 1953)

3a. Scots Guards (KC so was worn approximately 1902 - 1953).

3b. Canada Militia Artillery (Queen Victoria Crown) - sorry I don't know anymore about that one. There is one on ebay at the moment.
(270272619723).

Hope that goes some way to helping.

Cheers

Ian

Is there no Canadian in that lot of 150? may be a Montmagny in there somewhere. Ray

Thanks to all.

The only Canadian button it seems is the Canadian Militia Artillery.

(Wow 20$ for that single button!)

Default Canadian Artillery button / hatpin

The Canadian Militia Artillery "button" is manufactured as a hatpin.
The 20 cm steel pin is missing.
