Default Drake Battalion badge

I know that this question has come up many many times on the Military Badge Forum in the past, but being new to the Forum I had to give it a go. The badge in question has been in my collection for quite a few years, and I always had a nagging feeling about it (Real or Fake). So I have decided to let the Forum pas judgement on it. Comments are most welcome.

Hello Michael
It's a fake for sure, main give away amongst others is that there the AUXILIO DIVINO should be two separate words (gap in between)

HI Andy, I guess this badge is off to the filler file for now. I have added a photo of the loops,
not that it will make much difference. Thank you for your opinion.

Hello Gerard,
I see that the "ONE WORD-TWO WORD" discussions have appeared on the Forum in the past, also the "LOOPS-SLIDER" debates and the number of MERIDIANS it should have, and
also with and without a GAUNT tablet. All I can say at the moment that this badge looks a lot
better than the reproductions now appearing on eBay. Thank you for taking the time to comment on it.

Hello Frank,
Oh Dear indeed. The good thing is I did not pay very much for the badge back in the
1980's. I suppose it's all part of the learning curve.
Cheers,
Michael

It does not seem all that long ago to me when you could just go out and buy an original example for £35, but, those days are gone, although even back then the marketplace was absolutely awash with spurious examples which certainly lack the quality of the real ones.

Frank,
I could not agree with you more. These days it takes me a lot longer to decide on whether I should or should not acquire a particular badge.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Jim,
What great reference. Thank you. This type of information was just not available way back then. I have a R.N.A.S. collar badge (COX 1692) with a different shaped crown as opposed to (KK 1160) version, purchased at the Syracuse Gun Show in N.Y. State (1000 tables) years ago. Once posted I will wait for the other shoe to drop.
Regards,
Michael

"The unique cap badges specific to the various named battalions were not worn by officers, warrant officers and Chief Petty Officers who retained either subdued embroidered bullion or metal cap badges"

What is a "subdued" embroidered "bullion" badge, surely a contradiction in terms, perhaps you could post an example please?
