14th London Scottish?
Hi there, in a similar vain to the last post -
I have come upon a 1916 one florin coin which has been turned into an id tag bracelet. The kings head side has been polished flat and engraved with the following: No 265194 Sergt A.V.BENSON 14th S.L.R. C.E I can't seem to find much on the net (CWGC etc.) and the service number brings up several other names. If anyone can shed some light I'd be interested to hear. Regards, Craig |

Gerard, first thing that came to mind - thought that the S & L may have been swapped, maybe I should have thought harder. I always thought that a regimental number was unique so was surprised when it brought up several hits. Thanks for looking.
Jelly - thanks for bothering to reply. I also thought C of E. Cheers both. |
