Not a known Hughes slider and no doubt by a different company. If you can supply accurate thickness and width measurements of the slider I can have a stab at identifying the maker.

Might be a Timings which for this slider shape are around 5.50mm wide and 1.60mm thick

or

6.35 mm wide and 1.50 mm thick.

Regards

Chris

Thanks!!!

I'd go Timings then with one of the sliders I call a 'shark nose' type - our measurments are about the same and I always rounded up or down to the nearest 0.1mm or so.

Timings also made quite thin badges with a lot of detail cut into the reverse or punch die similar to yours.

If anyone has a spare Hughes badge with these twin rivets for sale then please let me know as I need one to photograph for a section on sliders that I have written.

Regards

Chris

Hi There,

Can you tell me how wide this slider is.

I have never, yet, come across this maker on a Royal Engineer badge
I don't suppose you have a spare of this? As I have a space in my collection for one

Hi Bob. I would be interested to look at the REME badge if you have pics available.

Hi Chris

Frustratingly found an orphaned gold a/a slider adrift in a box of a/a badges, many with broken/missing sliders. However, through elimination am confident it belongs to the RASC (QC). Width 5.5mm

Hi GTB,

Could be but one could never be 100% that the slider came from the badge unless it matched exactly re: colour tone and join.

Could the slider have come from any of the other badges?

Regards,

Chris
