RNVR photo
Interesting photo, thanks for posting - the photo shows the original RNVR blue collar with the three wavy tapes around the perimeter of the collar. The wavy tapes were done away with by the time of the 1WW period, being replaced by the straight tapes of the RN.
Also the name of his RNVR Division (Mersey) appears on his cap ribbon - the practice of including the rating's Division came into being in 1909, thus dating the photo sometime between then & the 1WW period. Bryan |
