Default Kukri Presentation Piece Hong Kong 1981

I have just acquired this Kukri, not unfortunately an issue one, but more like a wall piece but it does have a very nice presentation plate on it which was tarnished and polished up like silver. The Plate reads:

PRESENTED TO
CPL HORAN
FROM
24 PC SQN RE
HONG KONG
MAY 1981

An interesting memento from our presence in Hong Kong. If anyone can please tell me more about Corporal Horan and/or 24 PC SQN RE I would be most grateful.

Thanks

P.B.

( Not sure if I will be keeping this item or not )
