Hi Larry, Being pedantic, the RCMP did not exist in the First World War. They were the Royal Nortwest Mounted Police until amalgamated with the Dominion Police in 1920. At that time the badge in question was brought into use. Prior to that the RNWMP wore their own distinctive cap badge. That was the badge worn by the contingents in the CEF.
