A closer look at the late 1930s "coloured" photo.... I have stripped away the colour on both cap and arm badge and auto contrasted them.
Cap badge:- The scrolls have been pushed upwards and the feathers cap curved. The contrast levels do not show a different colour to the coronet. Arm badge:- This looks like a used cap badge that had the srcolls broken off.... and again the contrast shows no difference in the coronet colour. * I have added in the colour that should be there.... the Corporals stripes are actually taken off some blues. They are silver lace on scarlet.... and the backing cloth to the arm badge is scarlet also. White metal Cap & collars with brass buttons & titles.

Here is another crunched up white metal..... it looks like the Other Ranks of the RWY stylized their cap badges to emulate the Officer pattern?

PWO Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry
Hi All
Its about time the first Yeomanry got a proper study. Here is a photo from 1911 showing clearly the Officer pattern cap badge and the other ranks. The Officers are wearing their pattern in bronze with small collars. This officer pattern is the one that was used for all ranks post WW2 in AA for the Other Ranks. The other ranks, in the photo, are wearing a white metal Prince of Wales feathers ..... and being the standard production POWFs of the period from the badge makers. The NCOs do not wear an NCO arm badge in khaki and no collar badges.

An Officers S/P & Gilt dress cap badge by Gaunt post 1924.... the original die would have come from Jennens & Co.
There is also an earlier image of a Colonel pre 1924 that shows what I think is a silver only cap badge and probably by Jennens & Co. I have also added a good candidate badge. To back up the silver only early 1900s I have also shown a 2nd Boer War period RWY Officers FFSCap with a silver badge (William Dowler & Sons) in it.

RWY badge
I was unable to identify this badge as I couldn't find it in K&K. But I now think it is an O/R's Badge as shown by GRIFF in post no2. It is 39mm high x 36mm wide , what do you think? DonF

No .... and I mean that in the best possible way. The Other Ranks wore the standard white metal POWFs being produced at the time. As seen in the collars shown below.

Try the 77th East Middlesex Regiment... that seems to ring a bell.
