59 (Staffordshire) Inf Div
I have just noticed that when 59 Inf Div was dispersed in Aug 44 and two of its Brigades - 176 Inf Bde and 177 Inf Bde - were disbanded, the third Brigade - 197 Inf Bde by then comprising the Divisional RAOC, PC and REME elements was allocated to the battlefield clearance role. Until I can prove otherwise I would say that it is possible that the sign on the green background was adopted by 197 Inf Bde to mark its former connection with the Territorials of Staffordshire. As mentioned earlier the RA elements of the Division were concentrated into the newly formed 97 AGRA. Mike
