Default King's own- pagri or blazer badge?

I have the badge in the photo. It measures 4 1/4" x 3". It came with a note saying it was 'Harry Burdon's late father's regimental flash'.

A look in John Mollo's article in Formation Sign 146 records the following Khaki Foreign Helmet Embellishment:
The King's own Royal Regiment (Lancaster)
The 1929 Regulations give a blue cloth patch 3" x 2" embroidered in white 'KING'S OWN'. Photographs, however show this patch to have been rather longer in proportion. During the hirties a patch consisting of a dark blue rectangle with the regimental badge embroidered in white appears to have been worn on both types of helmet.

Mollo's sketch of the latter item is identical to my badge, but the colour isn't.

Have I got a blazer badge as I suspect, or a version of pagri, or bush hat badge?

Observations please.
Stephen.
