The ‘Dull Cherry’ backing is not worn by officers with the head-dress badge, nor indeed behind the collars - or on other ranks collars for that matter.
However, there do exist officers maroon backed embroidered beret badges; these are intended to be worn with the affiliated coloured beret of the ‘airborne’ element.
I too, would agree your RAMC badge is an officers collar.
