The Tam was the issued / authorized head dress for the field for Canadian highland units by the end of the war. The Glengarry was issued early in the war and were relegated to undress and walking out. They were issued to the entire unit earlier in the war. By 1945, the Tams were standard issue. The Glens were a bit of a prestige piece, old sweat sort of thing.
