Thanks, I think you're right re. this being a (1939 pattern) Swedish cap, it just lacks acceptance marks and the small blue & yellow cockade which has never been fitted to the front.
I'm left wondering whether the badge has, as suggested just been fitted to a cap that it has no connection at all with or whether its legitimately fitted to a Swedish made cap supplied as surplus to another army.
I bought it because I liked the badge and I only knew what it wasn't - the "Grenadier Guards cap" that it was being sold as.
