Default An interesting unofficial Australian 3rd Cavalry Regiment Vietnam War patch

An interesting unofficial Australian 1 Troop, 'A' Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment Vietnam War patch.

It was originally made to be worn as a patch on a rugby league jersey.

Picture caption:

Lance Corporal (LCpl) John Flood of Inverell, NSW (right), checks the position of a St George Rugby League Club emblem on the sleeve of the civilian jacket of Trooper David Pirie of Taralga, Vic. Both are members of the 1st troop of A Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment. LCpl Flood wrote to the Sydney Football club seeking permission for the armoured personnel carrier (APC) troop to reproduce the St George dragon emblem of the club. The club replied by sending over fifty six emblems.

Later some were made in country in Vietnam.
