Thanks. Thanks to Forum members my problem has almost been resolved. Your mention of Michelin maps reminds me that to my surprise on arrival in Croatia c 2002 I discovered that most of our maps were British copies of mapping done by the Geo Sections of the Wehrmacht in 1942/43 - and very high quality it was too.
