Default Canteen with Embossing - Order of the Garter?

Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
my question maybe is not military related, but I hope, your great experience with heraldic symbols could help me answer my questions.

I've got an old canteen/hunting flask (glassbottle with leatherbag) with an embossing. I think it dates from 1910 or so. The embossing shows the royal coat of arms together with the motto of the Order of the Garter on a banner. The kind of writing of the motto here is: "Honi suit qui mal y pense". (The measurement of the flask is 6,5 inches/17cm long and 3,5 inches/8cm wide.)

Do you know, if this seal could have been used by anybody to make something like souvenirs? Or could this flask really be an item that is connected to the Order of the Garter? And is it a military or civil kind of flask?

Thank you very much for your help!
