I am a Newby and after some assistance. I have a very good friend who served in the Malay Scouts in 1952 in honour of him I would very much like to start to put a collection of cloth insignia together. I am collector of German combat helmets and FS Knives, not inexpensive items to collect and have been stung enough times to learn from bitter experience that I am not as clued up as I would like to think. As in my helmet and knife collecting I have built up a comprehensive reference library and list of the good guys out there who retail these. What I would really appreciate is some advice on the best reference books on cloth insignia for UK special forces. Secondly a few names of reputable dealers. My friend does has a shoulder flash from his time in the Scouts and I would be pleased to borrow if off him and post this up if it would be of interest.
