Default Flt Lt Goff 35 Sqn PFF

Good afternoon one and all,

I thought I’d share this with you as it is our first RAAF addition to the collection.

Recently, I had the pleasure of accepting Flt Lt Goff's wartime memorabilia into the PFF Collection within the RAF Wyton Heritage Centre, John was a member of 35 Sqn PFF based at RAF Gravely.

What I found intriguing about this collection, is that Flt Goff’s first service tunic bears an ‘Air Gunners’ half wing brevet and his second, slightly bigger in size, bears that of a ‘Signallers’ half wing brevet. Showing a progression though courses and trade changes. Included is his forage and visor caps.

Also within this collection was a small toy submarine!!? Flt Lt RAAF Shoulder boards, passports, mirror in RAAF leather holder, Flying Log book, ‘C’ Type flying helmet, ‘G’ Type oxygen Mask, Mk 8 Goggles including box, map reading / drawing items and a few other bits and bobs. Though interestingly a parachute ‘D’ ring, his family didn’t know what this was and I have yet to research if he bailed out!

Thanks for looking

Kind regards

Johnny
