He had a brother Company Sgt-Major Ernest George Watkins, 235077 - 1/1st Battalion Herefordshire Reg. awarded the Belgium Croix-de Guerre ( London-Gazette 4th. Sept. 1919 ) service number only one different from my Grandfathers.

Many thanks, Terry

Interesting as 235078 Reginald Charles is according to the MIC's "Hertfordshire" Regt and 935 Ernest George Watkins(later 235077) was definately Herefordshire Regt.

The 1/1st Hereford's didn't join 34th Division until June 1918 having previously served at Gallipoli and then Egypt, where they had served with 53rd Division.

Suspect an incorrect entry somewhere.

As suspected the MIC is in error he was serving with the Hereford's in 1919.
