75th Anniv 'Operation Pedestal'
A miniature sheet issued by Maltapost to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Operation Pedestal when a last ditch effort was made to run a convoy through to the beleagured Island. Locally known as the 'Santa Maria' Convoy on account of ships arriving piecemeal on the 15th August, the Feast day of Our Lady and which has been hailed as a miraculous event.
