Hi Loyalist, yes that is a very specific way to date the titles. The GGFG wore the pattern with the embroidered white border from circa 1941 through 1948. While overseas the GGFG noted that their sister guards regiments wore white on scarlet titles without an embroidered border. They requested a similar change to their titles and in the 1948 review they were granted permission and the pattern without the embroidered border was approved and taken into wear.
