The general construction and the cap badge (which might not be original to the cap, but for arguments sake and the fact we will never know, we will assume that it is) would indicate 1930's or 40's.
First up, is there any indication of a makers stamp in the centre of the lining? These are often worn, but you might be lucky and they are very useful for dating private purchase caps.
Secondly, is it named? This is often written on on the leather sweatband, although you often find it on the reverse. If it is named, Ancestry have the Naval lists 1888-1970. If you are not a member, I am sure that someone will look it up for you.
