Other ranks forage cap badge of the Canadian School of Musketry at Ottowa.

The 'School' was considered Permanent Force, having no 'Militia' component. Their purpose was to train 'Musketry Instructors', of all arms of both the Permanent Force and Militia, who would then return to their units to instruct their own personnel in the skills of musketry.

The Canadian School of Musketry was authorized by the government in 1903 and at the outbreak of the Great War (1914) the school's personnel strength comprised of attached officers from permanent corps and 9 other ranks.
