Not sure if it's much help but one button design used by the 28th Regiment Bengal Native Infantry before the regiment mutinied in 1857 included the battle honours Allyghur, Delhi and Agra (according to Lt Col Poulsom's books on Indian Army Buttons).
I would think there is every chance that you are right regarding the badge on the sword.
