My Badge
I was a pupil at The Gordon Boys School in the 1960s. The Yellow metal badge was gradualy replaced by a gold anodised version in about 1966 and either could be worn. The buttons however had already been changed to anodised by 1965 and bore the same badge. The badge was mounted on red felt.
The uniform consisted of Gordon Tartan Trews a blue high collar jacket with gold anodised buttons. There were no collar badges. The Glengarry was dark blue with a Gordon Tartan band Red bobble and of course the badge mounted on the left hand side on a red felt background. Good conduct upside down chevrons were worn on the left cuff. Boys were entitled to wear 1 for every six months of good service. Once they reached six they were replaced by a gold chevron and the issue of a Good conduct medal.
Once I work out how to upload photos I will post them
