Default 5th Royal Fusileers

The 5th Battalion "Royal Fusileers" 1876-1879.
"Undress" glengarry badge (Flank Companies)
As an honorarium to Major Kenneth Cambell the Highland flank companies of the 5th Bn Royal Fusileers adopted the Boar's head, the crest of the Clan Cambell, with the motto "I beare in Minde", the personal motto in archaic English of the Cambells of Harris.

This example in cast brass was a sporran or a pouch badge, north and south screw posts have been removed and replaced with east and west copper lugs for wear in the glengarry. Old lacquer staining, a rare find for this short lived badge.
Ref Brooker 105-11-17.
