Mick,

To answer your question, the answer is that in the 'Introduction' to both of the existing Volumes, we outlined a plan to produce a 3 Volume set. The 3rd Volume of the series, covers (metal) Rank and Trade insignia in the post '53 period, right through to the present day. Nevertheless, we are working on other topics as well.

As for Vol 3 (Rank & Trade insignia)...it is understood that historians/academics and civilian Museums which have militaria collections (especially those with full uniform displays/exhibits for various reasons) will benefit from Volume 3, perhaps more so than insignia collectors and non Australian militaria dealers, who are the Readers that Volume 1 and 2 are intended to serve as a quick/pictorial reference guide.

In effect, I'm saying that Australian Army Corps and Unit Museums (which are run by the AAHU), are not in need of such a book... they have the service expertise and access to a library of relevant period dress manuals to refer to. So, it's broader Civil Museums, overseas dealers and collectors who are the likely and intended audience for Vol 3.

In the end, it will be interesting to see if the readership of Vol 3 differs from those who now use Vols 1 & 2. Time will tell.
