This is a history of the Hants Yeo post WW2. Between the wars the regt, now reduced to a single battery, continued to wear Yeomanry cap and collar badges. During the war photos suggest that they also wore standard RA grenade cap badges.

Post WW2 they were the 295 (Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) from Jan 1947 when they were reconstituted in as part of 100 (AA) AGRA (TA) .

However less than 2 years later in Sept 1948, 100 (AA) AGRA (TA) was disbanded. It is not clear whether the regt was reduced down to Bty strength. In 1955 the Hampshire Carbineers were formally put into suspended animation.

In 1963 Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry title was resuscitated and concurrently amalgamated with 457 (Wessex) Regiment, RA. The new Regiment was redesignated 457th (Wessex) Regiment, RA (Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry).

In 1964 the Regiment was redesignated 457th (Wessex) Heavy Air Defence Regiment, RA (Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry).

Bi-metal badges do exist but were also recorded as being produced in the 1970's bearing false Gaunt London marks by Laurie Archer.
