The Chard School Cadet company was affiliated to the 5th Bn Somerset Light Infantry in 1922. As such they may have worn the SLI cap badge. The school badge shown in K&K may pre-date that or may date from 1930 when Regular badges were not to be worn by cadets. A school brass S/T does exist but is simply Chard School Somerset with no OTC.

The school cadet corps was never a member of the Junior Division OTC but a company in the regional army cadet bn. The school had an ACF post 1947 and was badged RA. According to the ACF they changed to the TA QOD&WSY in the 1960's
