Default Jack Hopkins and Alf Wells 1917

Obviously a studio shot - not sure where. Many (all?) of the 11th/12th had been transferred into the 52nd while they were still in Egypt in Mar 1916.

The man they sent the photo to (Bert Wills) was in the Dunston War Hospital in Northampton at the time, after having received shrapnel wounds at Messines, Belgium. He rejoined his unit on 5th October. Eleven days later he was wounded again (3rd occasion). These wounds were sufficient to take him out of the war and he was RTA in May 1918.
