Hi Guys,

As I understand things the badge is authorised by the Army Dress Committee for current day used but is not provided by the public purse hence no NSN or pattern No. It has therefore been source by the unit itself and I believe it gets its badges from a dodgy die used to knock out fakes which are found all over eBay for between 5-10 GBP. I have seen images of a badge directly from a gunner and the die flaws on the rear of the badge reconcile with said fakes.

However, the current 'official' badge is quite silver in colour when compared to the 'fake' although my example has bronze coloured lugs. They are not that common and it took me months to find an 'official' badge amongst all the iffy ones.

I am away from home at the mo but will provide info from the ADC and images of my example on the weekend.

Regards,

Chris
