If you go to this link it shows the post WW2 sealed pattern card for the Tyneside Scottish RA Bty but with the '3rd pattern' design with the raised rear leg.

I don't know offhand when this stopped being issued but I suspect it was in 1967 when the TA were reduced.
Clearly at some later date the lineage has been recreated which continues today. The badge worn by the current Bty and cadets is the 2nd pattern (first used in 1915) one with both hind paws on the ground. This does rather suggest that they are bought rather than issued.
