Default Indian makers

I have two 1926 pattern King's regt cap badges with sliders stamped with Indian maker's names. The first is Chatur Bihari Bros, Aligarh UP (United Provinces now Uttar Pradesh. It is very well made and finely finished. The scroll is rivetted onto a WM underplate.
The second is B (possibly G) Karanjee & Sons - also from Aligarh. This one is made in the same way but is cruder.
Aligarh, south-east of Delhi, was definitly a centre of brass manufacture and these must be made sometime after 1932 when the 1st Bn King's arrived in India (ultimately to stay until about 1947) and were indeed larghely stationed in north-east India.

Does anybody know where I can find out about Indian makers ?
I have come across a few others made by Chatur but not (yet) Karanjee.

I assume / hope they are genuine, though it would not be difficult for someone today to produce such things - particularly the Karanjee badge.

many thanks
(I will get decent photographs taken of these two in due course)
